Man Sentenced In New York Tax Evasion Case

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]A New York man was sentenced to 12 months of home confinement and ordered to pay $243,387 in restitution to the IRS after being convicted of tax evasion.

According to court records, Mark E. Wolanyk, 62, of Clarence Center, New York, made business deposits into a bank account in the name of his minor son. From October 2010 through December 2013, Wolanyk deposited approximately $258,911.49 and withdrew approximately $260,875.

Wolanyk filed a false tax return for 2013 claiming $77,477 in gross income and $56,491.58 in total income. This was incorrect. In addition, he had previously filed a tax return for 2013 claiming a loss of $1,500.[/vc_column_text][us_image image=”2091″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
