Susan and William Harris were convicted of stealing over $11 million from Ayudando Guardians Inc., a nonprofit that provided guardianship, conservatorship and financial management to hundreds of veterans, those with disabilities, and those with special needs.

For over a decade, they engaged in money laundering, fraud, and identity theft. This even included regularly writing themselves and others—including their son—checks of over $10,000. Instead of using the funds to aid those they claimed to help, they funneled the money into their own pockets to fund a lavish lifestyle. The pair fled prior to sentencing but were arrested in Oklahoma. Susan Harris was sentenced to 47 years in federal prison and William Harris was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for their crimes.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
