He faces up to 10 years if convicted on charges that he did not pay $1.7 million in taxes.

A Texas man who operated a dental clinic was arrested on charges of tax evasion and failure to pay employment taxes.

According to court records, Jonathan Louis Lepow, of Houston, Texas, was the office and business manager responsible for payroll obligations and making tax payments to the IRS. In 2012, Lepow stopped paying employment taxes to the IRS, according to the charges.

Lepow allegedly avoided paying owed taxes to the IRS by opening and closing bank accounts, accepting cash payments for dental and other services, and depositing revenue in bank accounts held in the name of other companies.

Lepow’s outstanding employment tax obligation exceeded $1.7 million, the government alleges. If convicted, Lepow faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.[/vc_column_text][us_image image=”1814″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
