A Florida doctor has pleaded guilty to filing multiple fraudulent federal income tax returns.
According to court records, Ahmad T. Ismail, 70, of Bonifay, Florida, admitted that he understated his gross income by thousands of dollars per year.
He failed to report all the cash payments he received from patients at his medical practice in 2017 and 2018.
The IRS estimates the overall tax loss perpetrated by Ismail to be more than $100,000.
Ismail, who will be sentenced in January 2022, faces up to six years in prison for the tax crimes as well as the payment of restitution to the IRS.
