[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Portland, Oregon tax preparer Elizabeth Muñoz has been charged with preparing and filing over 1,000 false federal tax returns requesting more than three million dollars in fraudulent refunds.
Muñoz ran a tax preparation business from 2015-2018 that promised her clients the, “biggest refund guaranteed.” She prepared 1,196 false tax returns for over six hundred clients and claimed false tax credits for her clients.
If convicted, Muñoz is looking at three years in prison, three years of supervised release and 6.2 million dollars in fines.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
