OWNER OF ENGINEERING FIRM DID NOT PAY TAXES

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The CEO of a Georgia engineering company pleaded guilty to not paying $1.4 million in payroll taxes.

According to court records, Charles Johnson Sr., 82, ran Williams-Russell and Johnson, an engineering firm headquartered in Atlanta.

Johnson failed to pay significant amounts of withheld income and employment taxes to the IRS; payments to the firm’s retirement plan; and health insurance premiums. These funds were collected and withheld from employee paychecks for multiple years, stretching from at least 2015 to 2019.

As part of his plea, Johnson agreed to pay $1.4 million in restitution.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][us_image image=”1321″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
