A Massachusetts legislator owes $154,067 in unpaid federal taxes, according to a lien filed against him by the Internal Revenue Service.
David Linsky, a lawyer and former state prosecutor, was first elected to the Massachusetts House in 1999 and currently chairs the House Committee on Post Audit and Oversight.
Linsky told the State House News Service that the unpaid taxes were “the result of a number of family issues and business issues, unrelated to my work as a state representative.”
Linsky said he’s on a payment plan with the IRS and “paying back every dime.”
According to the tax lien, Linsky owes taxes for the years 2016 through 2019. He said the lien was for the original amount owed, which he’s paid down.[/vc_column_text][us_image image=”3012″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
